Write for us
Global Stage Review welcomes pitches that help general readers see how live performance is made and understood. We are interested in clear explanations, useful comparisons and original angles rooted in the craft of staged work.
What to pitch
Send a specific subject, the main point you want readers to take away and a short outline of how you would explain it. Strong pitches focus on one question or choice, such as how a transition guides attention or how movement changes the meaning of a stage picture. Avoid broad surveys that cannot make a clear point.
What makes a good contribution
Write for curious readers without assuming specialist knowledge. Define technical terms, distinguish observation from interpretation and use examples to clarify rather than decorate. We value original thinking, careful wording and subjects that remain useful beyond a single current event.
How to send a proposal
Send pitches and article proposals through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include your proposed title, focus and outline in the message. Please do not send a complete article unless we have requested one.
Notice the choices, not just the effect
A performance is made through decisions about bodies, space, sound and time. Looking closely helps explain what those decisions do.
